Are you ready for a lit summer filled with good times, good vibes and good bud? Now, imagine what that looks like when you combine all three amongst your friends and likeminded souls. Well, it’s possible! With summer finally setting ablaze, it’s time to fire up those joints and bongs amongst other comrades, enjoying good munchies, good drinks and free paraphernalia.
With the rise of Marijuana legalizations, marijuana festivals are becoming the norm allowing those who enjoy the ganja to do so in a safe space. So, if you’re looking for a nice getaway where you can put your feet up while also putting one in the air, you’re in the right place. Below is a list of eight great festivals and business conventions (for those interested in the politics of marijuana) where you can go and enjoy the fellowship.
Cannabis Freedom Run
Sun. 9:30 a.m.
Do you have an affinity for fitness and blunts? Why not kick off the summer with a sprint and a spliff at The Cannabis Freedom Run. The Freedom Run is amongst the first festivals to jump-start the summer and will be hosted in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The 5k-race is not just to test your personal athleticism but also to promote “sensible marijuana policies.” The $40 registration fee gives all 5k runners a free set of marijuana leaf socks, gift bags (for the first 25) and access to free food, beer and cider.
Cannabis Cultivation and Extraction
Thu. 5:00 p.m.
One of the good consequences of the recent legalization of marijuana in Massachusetts is that the issue of cultivating marijuana has been an increasing conversation. If you’re looking to nerd out about rules and regulations regarding policies, cultivation operations, chemistry methods for extractions and or lighting and HVAC systems in New England this event is for you. Panel discussions and networking opportunities will be afforded to those on the path to cultivating their own lane within the market. Not to mention, vendors, drinks and live music will be on the schedule.

Returning for its fifth year, Chalice Festival is documented as the World’s Largest Glass Hash Music and Art festival. With last year’s attendance being approximately 35,000 people, 2018 is expected to be just as large if not more. With past appearances from Ice Cube, Migos and WuTang, this year the line up is even more vicious and classic. Attenders can expect Ludacris, Curren$y and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony to take the stage in conjunction with a fun and eventful 3-day weekend where they will consume dope music, dope smokes and dope vibes.
Boston Freedom Rally
As the second largest annual gathering in the world, the Freedom Rally is historic in that it first began in 1989 as a way for smokers to come together, spread information and demand marijuana law reform within the United States. Throughout the years it has been reported that members of the rally sued the city of Boston six times for failure to release permits. Coming a long way, this year will make its 29th annual festival and the three-day weekend is not only a victory but also a constant reminder of where Massachusetts’s laws against marijuana have come from and where they are going towards the future. The Rally will have 2 stages, music and plenty of good vibes.
Have a business? Have a talent? With three stages to choose from, Kushstock is the perfect place to enjoy and or perform live music and present art. Held in San Bernardino, CA the festival is currently looking for vendors and artists to display their goods for the weekend of October 13th. Not to mention yours truly (Cali Coastal Culture) will be in attendance vending our own stock of Kush.
4th Annual Rhode Island Convention
Coined as the largest event in the state, the convention which is apart of NECANN,
is a great place to learn and expose those who are looking to advance their business skills within the industry. Over 100 plus booths are available for business owners.
